Niger (ACMAD)

In March 2010, IEDRO received two CDs from the WMO (Hama Kontongomde) containing a record of the complete inventory of observational records microfiched during the 1990s throughout Africa—nearly 1,000 observation sites. IEDRO made copies of the CDs for Martin Munkhondya, IEDRO’s Africa Program Manager, and Dr. Rob Allan (ACRE Program Director) as well as Tom Ross, Climate Database Modernization Program Director, National Climatic Data Center.

Hopefully when the government of Niger is a bit more stable, Rick and Africa Project Manager, Martin Munkhondya, will be able to visit Niamey to negotiate the release of the microfiche for digitization.
